  1. Normally, I do not review items, mainly because I am happy with it and using the product. This case works great and keeps the entire system cooler than my other case. The top fan really makes a difference. I recommend this case.

  2. I spent some time on line looking for a case for the computer I was building. There are a lot of good cases with many options. I was drawn to this one based on price and features. Now that I have my new system up and running I am extreamly happy with the case. It does have great airflow and after building a little platform for it to set on so that I was confident that I got good airflow to the power supply I can find nothing that I don’t like. There have been reviews that were not as favorable as mine but then I have never owned a $200 case. I would buy this case again!

  3. Recently, I upgraded to a Core 2 Quad Core 2.4 GHz processor, and an MSI MoBo to support it. I also installed a new video card (ATI, 512MB). In my old-style case, the temp of the processor was 116f and the system temp was similar; and that was with the case completely opened up. I am using only an Arctic Cooling Freezer Pro 7, which is an economy-class cooler.

I chose this case because of the high airflow available to cool anything inside. The airflow does not disappoint. It does cool the ‘board and the processor, and the video card very well. I’ve seen a twenty degree c temp drop in all monitored components. Personally, I think a little managing of the airflow would help. It appears to me that the large side-mounted fan loses effectiveness by blowing directly into the rear-mounted fan. That means some cooling air is immediately removed from inside the case. If a tube was made to use that rear fan to draw air away from the processor cooler, and block the inward flowing air from the large side fan into the RAM area would seem to me to help out considerably. The trick would be to keep the flow onto the Motherboard heatsink and radiator. I’m working on it.

What I don’t like about the case is that some corners were cut in its construction. If one is not careful with the right side panel (the one with the side-mounted fan on it,) that panel can get warped and cause the fan to hit the panel, which is highly not-good. Also, I did not like the tool-less drive mounting system. I don’t like plastic parts where metal parts should be. Since I’m used to screwing down my drives, I’m not used to them being loose in their slots; but I suppose it doesn’t really effect anything. When I first pulled the front cover off the case to begin my system installation, the reset button plastic piece fell out. Again, plastic pieces can really hork me off quick.

So overall, I like this case a lot and recommend it. It does as advertised and cools like crazy. I was considering getting a Cooler Master V-8 for cooling the processor, but I’m reconsidering it because this case makes my economy cooler effective enough to get the job done. My processor runs at 96f and the ‘board at 82f or so (ambient air temp is 70f or so.) With a little passive RAM cooling installed, the entire system should cool well enough for any over-clocking. ThermalTake did a pretty good job.

  4. PROs – Very functional case. I had an older mid tower case that was running around 107F inside with the CPU hitting 89F and the VGA at 120F plus. It had 3 internal small fans to help it cool.

I put the same mother board, cpu, power supply and VGA card in this case. I’m now getting 86F in the case,CPU at 68F and VGA at 100F. By the way, the room temperature is 67F. I also love the way it allows you to mount the hard drives sideways, allowing me to run the cables to the side vs to the back. The unit is also very quiet.

CONs – It seems strange mounting the power supply at he bottom with the air intake facing the bottom. It has a filter on the bottom and is indented enough to allow the case do draw air in from the outside bottom of the case through that filter. However, this is more psychological than practical. It really makes more sense to isoldate the power supply from the case.

I’m also paranoid about the reset button. It is easy to accidently hit the reset button when dragging my finger across the panel in the dark. Again, very minor.

OvERALL, an excellent case. The best case I’ve ever puchased.
